Sozialwissenschaften und Berufspraxis (SuB) is a German scientific journal . The journal focuses on sociological issues. The publisher is the Professional Association of German Sociologists . The editorial office of the journal, founded in 1979, is based at the University of Hamburg .

Focus

The focus of the SuB is applied sociology with questions about sociological professional practice, evaluation , empirical social research or sociological advice . What is innovative about this journal for German-speaking sociology is the communication between university research and university teaching with social science practice. The SuB is oriented towards the breadth of sociological fields of action. In this context, scientific and everyday topics and developments are discussed.

Formal structure of the magazine

Formally, the issues of the SuB are divided into four sections:

  • In the first column, the articles , scientific treatises on the respective focal points are published.
  • In the second column, the reports , articles appear on specific university and non-university projects.
  • In the third column, the practical fields , sociological fields of activity are discussed, possibly supplemented by the practitioner interview.
  • In the 4th column, the discussion , the authors reflect on scientifically supported opinions.

In addition, reviews and information on events relevant to social science appear . Finally, members and interested parties can get an overview of the activities of the Professional Association of German Sociologists (BDS) under the association notices.

Place of publication

The magazine appears twice a year in Lucius & Lucius Verlagsges. mbH in Stuttgart , previously at Leske + Budrich. The SuB is recorded in the social science information system SOLIS of the information center for social sciences in Bonn .
