Helmut Oppermann

Helmut Oppermann (born March 20, 1953 in Rendsburg ; † March 30, 2015 in Bremen ) was a German artist .

biography

Oppermann completed his training as a painter, sculptor and graphic artist with the Bremen painter and sculptor Ulf Schöner in Bremen in the 1970s. He was a guest student at the Hochschule für Gestaltung , among others with Karl Heinrich Greune . First exhibitions in Bremen and Oldenburg followed. He then went into social work, was a co-founder of the local drug policy association and was its managing director. Since about 2004 he devoted himself to art again. This was followed by a series of solo exhibitions in Bremen and other cities.

He was married to the Mayor of Bremen Karoline Linnert (Greens); both have two children and he lived in the Hastedt district . He was buried in the Hastedter cemetery.
