Helmut Otto (artist)
Helmut Richard Otto (born August 27, 1937 in Nordhausen ; † January 21, 2012 ) was a German painter and university professor.
Life
Helmut Otto studied at the Berlin University of the Arts with Werner Volkert from 1959 to 1964 and became a high school teacher. From 1969 to 1980 he worked at the University of Education in Berlin and was then appointed to the University of the Arts, where he taught painting and drawing until 2002. Otto was a member of the group "Lügensieb" and exhibited in the Taube Gallery in Berlin and in the H. Freiberg Gallery in Braunschweig.
He found his final resting place in the south-west cemetery in Stahnsdorf .
