Helmut Pertl

Helmut Pertl (born September 17, 1969 in Tamsweg ) is a musician and composer from Salzburg's Lungau .

Life

After elementary school , high school (lower level) and the commercial academy in Tamsweg , Pertl trained as a banker in Tamsweg. From 1998 to 2001 a teaching degree followed in Salzburg and Graz .

He received his first musical training on the clarinet at the age of eight from Kpm.Christian Haller, later he broadened his horizons by learning the saxophone , flute , trumpet , bass trumpet and the basics of piano playing .

Helmut Pertl has been a member of the Tamsweg Citizens Music Association since 1981, and gained additional music and stage experience through various dance bands from 1985 to 1997. From 1987 to 1992 he was a member of the Lungau Big Band and from 1989 to 1990 of the Salzburg Military Music . He then worked for 8 years as a bank clerk in the private sector, until he accepted a teaching post for business subjects in 1998. During his studies in Graz, he completed a composition and conductor training at the Johann Josef Fux Conservatory with Franz Cibulka and Mag. Armin Suppan . His main focus is on traditional Austrian brass music with its special facets and instrumentation. In addition to brass music, the composer also devotes himself to various projects.

Projects

  • 2006: Theatrical performance of “The Kebap King” - composition of the theater music and participation with a brass ensemble of the Tamsweg Citizen Music.
  • 2008: Concert project Citizen Music St. Michael & cult band "Querschläger" - arrangement of a 20-minute medley, consisting of 6 pieces of the Querschläger, for wind orchestra and band.
  • 2009: Concert cooperation between the Tamsweg Citizen Music and the “Murvalley Dixieland Band”.
  • 2011: Concert cooperation between the Tamsweg Citizen Music and the “Lungauer Liedertafel Tamsweg”. World premiere of the "Festmarsch der Lungauer Liedertafel" arranged by Helmut Pertl (The march was composed by Hans Noggler jun. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Lungauer Liedertafel in 1949. An old sheet of music with the melody and the text, which was sent to Kpm. Pertl served as the basis for this arrangement).
  • 2011: World premiere of the “St. Leonhards Mass”; this took place as part of the patronage feast of St. Leonhard on November 6, 2011 in the pilgrimage church of St. Leonhard zu Tamsweg. At this folk fair, Pertl tried above all to process a melodic simplicity, paired with a variety of harmonies and interesting interventions in the percussion register (classic percussion, stick playing, symphonic effects), which are seldom found in measuring arrangements. There are also arrangements for wood, brass and saxophone ensembles.
  • 2012: 1st prize at the composition competition of the Tyrolean Brass Music Association with the contemporary program work "Adlerhorst"
  • 2013: Music in motion in Tamsweg - choreography and rehearsal of a march show with a total of 130 participants (cross-association - Tamsweg Citizen Music, Tamsweg Civic Rifle Corps, Tamsweg Samson Group)
  • 2015: 10 years “Fire and Voice” in St. Michael; Arrangement of the march "Fire and Voice"
  • 2015: CD production with approx. 250 participants (13 clubs / groups / ensembles) "Our Tamsweg"
