Helmut Quitzrau

Helmut Quitzrau (* 1889 ) was a German SA leader, most recently with the rank of SA brigade leader, and a political functionary. Among other things, he was the German General Commissioner for the Ukrainian capital region of Kiev during the Second World War .

Life and activity

In 1928 Quitzrau joined the NSDAP. After he took part in the attacks in Königsberg on August 1, 1932 , he had to flee to Italy, where he stayed until March 1933.

From 1933 to 1934 Quitzrau acted as SA brigade leader in Masuria . During this time he was promoted to SA Brigade Leader on July 1, 1933. On June 30, 1934 Quitzrau was arrested and transferred to Berlin, but was finally released. He then worked from 1934 to 1935 as SA brigade leader in Stettin . From 1937 he was in the Wehrmacht.

During the Second World War Quitzrau served from September 1941 to February 1942 as General Commissioner for the General District of Kiev. Waldemar Magunia finally succeeded him in this post .
