Helmut Renöckl

Helmut Renöckl (born February 28, 1943 in Ottensheim ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic theologian and ethicist.

Life

From 1961 to 1969 Renöckl studied Roman Catholic theology and philosophy , as well as social and economic sciences at the University of Linz and the University of Innsbruck .

Renöckl was appointed to the Philosophical-Theological University / Catholic Private University Linz in 1976 and taught “Philosophical Ethics” there until 2008, in addition to leading positions in adult education. From 1994 to 2017 he taught "Ethics in Natural Sciences and Technology" at the J. Kepler University Linz, from 2006 as an honorary professor. Also teaches "Medical Ethics" at the Upper Austrian Health Professions University.

1991–2008 Renöckl also taught “Theological Ethics, Social and Business Ethics” at the Theological Faculty of the South Bohemian University in České Budějovice and headed the chair and an ethics institute for all faculties. Since 2008 professor of business ethics at the Faculty of Economics at the University of South Bohemia.

Renöckl is married and has 3 children. In 2006 he was awarded the Silver Medal of Honor and in 2013 the Culture Medal of the State of Upper Austria .
