Helmut Sanftenschneider
Helmut Sanftenschneider (born February 4, 1968 in Bochum ) is a German musician , presenter and comedian .
Life
Since the age of 12, Sanftenschneider received lessons in classical guitar. After finishing school, he completed three years of professional training as a service specialist in the postal service and worked as a mail carrier for four years. From 1992 to 1997 he studied classical guitar at the Cologne University of Music, Dept. Wuppertal, and graduated with a diploma.
Musical career
He made his first public appearances with the Spanish guitarist Bernabe Gomez, with whom he founded the duo "Hijos de Pablo". From 1990 onwards, Sanftenschneider also played as guitarist in Gomez 'flamenco formation "Romancero Gitano". With the formation a total of 3 CDs with Spanish original compositions by Sanftenschneider and Gomez were released by 1997. Together with Andreas Kneip (bass) and Thomas Kinzel (drums), he founded the trio "Sanftenschneider" in 1996.
After studying music, he worked as a guitarist and composer in other formations, including a. with the Wuppertal Ensemble Noisten. From 2003 to 2007 he accompanied the comedian Johann König during his performances as a musical stage partner. Until 2014 he toured together with the singer Claudia Schill with the musical revue "Bonjour Kathrin - an homage to Caterina Valente and Silvio Francesco" .
Career as a moderator and comedian
Since 2006, Sanftenschneider has hosted his own comedy and cabaret show "NachtSchnittchen", which takes place regularly in Datteln, Hattingen, Bochum, Gelsenkirchen, Dülmen, Herten and Schwerte. In dates , he hosts the annual publication initiated by him Kleinkunstpreis "Best of NachtSchnittchen - the Dattelner Kleinkunstpreis". Prize winners have been a. 2009–2010, Helmut Sanftenschneider presented at the GOP Theaters in Munich, Hanover, Essen, Münster and Bad Oeynhausen. In addition to numerous company and gala events, Helmut Sanftenschneider also regularly moderates the renowned competition for stage originals " Tegtmeiers Erben ", "Nightwash Live", the opening ceremony of the Cranger Kirmes with an average of 4 million visitors to Germany's largest folk festivals, the Kremenholler Cabaret Prize and on the cruise ship "MS Albatros" (known from the ARD series "Crazy About the Sea").
Since 2008 he has been seen regularly as a comedian on the well-known German comedy stages (including Quatsch Comedy Club Hamburg, Berlin and Düsseldorf, Nightwash throughout Germany, Schmidt Theater Hamburg).
On April 20, 2012 he celebrated the premiere of his first full-length comedy program "Currywurst & Kastagnetten" ( Flottmann-Hallen , Herne), on September 12, 2015 he had the premiere of his second evening program "RuhrpottBanderas".
In 2011 he received the honorary award of the 1st Rü-Witz Kleinkunstpreis for his services as a Ruhr area presenter and comedian. In 2015 he received, together with Carmela de Feo, the special prize of the International ComedyArtsFestival Moers and was a finalist of the Hamburg Comedy Cup.
In 2016 he signed the city of Datteln's golden book (100 shows in the Friedenskirche Datteln). In 2016 he was also a participant in the German Cabaret League, won the Stockstadt Roman helmet (jury award) and received the satirical award "Bottroper Frechdax". In 2017 he received the "golden faucet" (audience award of the Comedy Club Zurich).
In addition to his solo career, Helmut Sanftenschneider pursues 3 regular side projects:

In 2018 he released his first studio album "Our Aubruch" under his stage name HELMO, with which he was represented in the top 20 of the best songs list from March to May 2018.
On October 4th, 2019, he celebrated its premiere with his anniversary program "The Guitar Whisperer" in the Flottmannhallen Herne.
