John Doyle (comedian)
John Doyle (born July 21, 1963 in Oak Ridge , New Jersey ) is an American comedian . He lives in Germany .
Life
John Doyle grew up in New Jersey and graduated from high school in 1981.
After completing his three-year training as an air traffic controller in the US Navy , he studied journalism and theater studies at Montclair State University in New Jersey from 1985 to 1989 . 1989 followed a year as an exchange student at the Karl-Franzens-University in Graz . After his return to the USA, he worked as a German teacher at his former high school. In 1999 he left the United States again and began working as a journalist on Deutsche Welle's English program in Cologne . This was followed by engagements with Radio 100.1 Aachen , Radio NRW and local radio stations .
He started his career as a comedian in 1996 with his first solo program alone in Germany . Since then, John Doyle has been bringing his life in Germany closer to the audience and illuminating German society with its everyday pitfalls and pitfalls through the eyes of an American. In the latest programs he also addresses the trials and tribulations of family life as well as the suffering of a back patient ( the world is a disc ).
He had his first major television appearances in 2003 as part of the first season of Star Search . Here he reached the final in the Comedian category , where he had to admit defeat to the winner Ingo Oschmann .
On television, John Doyle was a guest at Nightwash , TV total , Die Anstalt , Cindy from Marzahn - and the young wild ones and the Quatsch Comedy Club . In addition, his comedy series I love Germany was broadcast on WDR television in 2006 .
John Doyle lives in Cologne .
