Helmut Schmidt (sports official)
Helmut Schmidt (born May 14, 1920 in Düsseldorf ; † October 30, 2010 ) was a German sport functional .
Schmidt was a member of the supervisory board of VfB Stuttgart from 1985 to 2002 . Helmut Schmidt was a member of the Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors for the German Sports Aid Foundation . The Fencing Club Tauberbischofsheim led Schmidt for over twenty years as president. Professionally he worked for Daimler AG . In 2008 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class .
Schmidt was a member of the board of trustees of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation from 1987 to 2003 .
