Helmut Weinbuch

Helmut Weinbuch (born February 2, 1937 ) is a former functionary of the German Ski Association (DSV).

He was General Secretary and Sports Director of the DSV. He was also responsible for Nordic combined in the Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS) and was able to breathe new life into this traditional sport through reforms. So he introduced the sprint and the relay. He made sure that the Gundersen method was used in the World Cup competitions so that the finish line corresponds to the competition result. In the past, a point table created after the finish was used for this.

Helmut Weinbuch is the father of the 1985 World Combination Champion Hermann Weinbuch .
