Helmuth Althaus

Helmuth Althaus (born December 9, 1922 in Hagen; † April 19, 2001 ) was a German hygienist .

Career

Althaus received his doctorate in 1950 from the University of Marburg . In 1953 he came to the Hygiene Institute of the Ruhr area and was its director from 1974 to 1988. In 1973 he was appointed honorary professor at RWTH Aachen University.

Honors

  • 1987: Medal of Honor from the German Soil Society
  • 1988: Bunsen-Pettenkofer roll of honor from the German Gas and Water Association
  • 1989: Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany
