Helmuth Tades

Helmuth Tades (born December 18, 1929 ; † June 28, 2013 in Vienna ) was an Austrian lawyer.

Life

After studying law and obtaining a doctorate, Tades was head of the civil law section in the Austrian Federal Ministry of Justice .

Together with Robert Dittrich , he wrote numerous legal comments in the areas of civil law and labor law , including the standard commentary on the General Civil Code (ABGB) from the series of Manz's short comments . The large complete edition of the ABGB published by Dittrich-Tades has long been considered a "classic" for lawyers. In addition, Tades was the editor of the collection of labor law decisions (Arb), which can also be queried in the RDB legal database.

Tades had been retired at the end of 1994 and was awarded the Austrian Bar of Honor.
