Henk Albers
Henk Albers (born August 26, 1927 in Amsterdam , † September 20, 1987 ) was a Dutch cartoonist .
Life
From 1940 to 1941 Albers received drawing lessons in the Toonder Studios . From 1941 to 1944 he worked in the drawing film department at Geesink-Toonder Studios . After the war he joined the magazine strip film and later in the Ketelbinkiekrant of Wim Meulendijk . He drew several newspaper comics during this period, including De kat and Stuffy McLion (a parody of the German Empire ) and under the pseudonym Jerry Milton for Le Chat Noir and Pin-Up Magazine , which led to interrogations by the police.
From 1956 Albers worked as a freelancer . He was a regular illustrator for the AVRO program guide and drew record sleeves and posters.
In 1957 he moved to the weekly magazine Donald Duck . Eight years later he switched to Pep , where he drew parodies of Lucky Luke . In 1974 he moved to the vicinity of Paris and worked for Dargaud , drawing even more Lucky Luke parodies with Yvan Delporte .
From 1960 until his death in 1987, Albers was also the illustrator of the Silly Symphonies series for Donald Duck .
