Henk Feldmeijer

Johannes Hendrik Feldmeijer (born November 30, 1910 in Assen , † February 22, 1945 in Raalte ) was a Dutch National Socialist politician and member of the Waffen SS .

Feldmeijer studied mathematics and natural sciences at the University of Groningen , but did not finish his studies and devoted himself to National Socialism. At the age of 21 he joined the National Socialist Movement ( NSB ) and belonged to the Volkish wing.

Feldmeijer began building the “Mussert Guard” in autumn 1939, and he became its leader. After the German attack on the Netherlands in May 1940 , he founded and headed the Dutch SS in September 1940.

During the Second World War he was stationed in the Balkans and on the Eastern Front . Among other things, he received the Iron Cross . Feldmeijer was also involved in a responsible position in crimes against civilians in the Netherlands. In particular, he directed reprisals in response to attacks by the Dutch resistance . An act of revenge was given the name " silver fir ". It was carried out by the Feldmeijer special command. Up to 54 civilians were shot dead in this action. Feldmeijer died on the way to the front when an Allied fighter pilot set fire to his car.
