Henk Vonk (March 4, 1942 - June 17, 2019 ) was a Dutch football coach . Since 1981 he has been with FC Utrecht in various positions.
Career
Before Vonk came to the Dutch Eredivisie representative, he was already active as a coach in Utrecht amateur football and, among other things, was responsible for the national selection there. In 1981 he was finally hired by the FCU as a youth coach and he also worked as a scout for the club. In 1988 he was appointed assistant coach of the first team under the then coach Han Berger . He continued to oversee this position under Cees Loffeld and Ab Fafié . When Fafié left the head coach in 1993, Vonk was briefly employed as an interim coach . Under new coach Leo van Veen, he moved back to the club's youth division. He later worked again in the scouting area, was a video analyst and observed opposing teams. On September 10, 2006, he was honored for his many years of work in the club by the then President Jan Willem van Dop and then trainer Foeke Booy . On December 23, 2008 it was announced that Vonk will take over the Eredivisiemeam again after the resignation of Willem van Hanegem . Since he lacked the necessary paper, the Utrecht veteran Ton du Chatinier was put at his side. From now on they both lead the team as coaching duo. Vonk later moved back into the background and left the place to Chatinier.
