The provisional arrangement (colloquially also "provi"; from Latin provisio , "precaution") describes a thing set up for the temporary purpose , whereby the time limit of use is determined from the start. The term interim has a similar meaning for a temporary solution.

Occasionally a temporary arrangement becomes a permanent establishment, then one jokingly speaks of a providurium . However, this should only be the case if the temporary construction withstands the benefit in the long term.
