Hennie Matteman

Hennie Matteman (born December 19, 1955 ) is a former Dutch judoka . She was runner-up in the European Championship in 1979 and won a bronze medal in 1975 and 1976.

Athletic career

Hennie Matteman fought in the half-light and lightweight. When Dutch championships for women were held on a test basis in 1972, she won the weight class up to 55 kilograms. At the first championships in 1973 she took second place in the weight class up to 54 kilograms. After a second place in 1974 in the weight class up to 56 kilograms, she won her first official championship title in 1975 in the weight class up to 52 kilograms. In December 1975 the first European Women's Championships took place in Munich . In the weight class up to 52 kilograms, Hennie Matteman won a bronze medal. She was able to repeat this success in 1976 in Vienna . After a break, she took part again in 1979 in Kerkrade in the European Championships and reached the final in the weight class up to 52 kilograms by defeating Britain's Bridgette McCarthy . There she was defeated by the Austrian Edith Hrovat . In 1979 and 1981 Matteman took third place twice at Dutch championships, each in the weight class up to 56 kilograms.
