European Women's Judo Championships 1975
The first official European Judo Championships for women took place from December 12th to 13th, 1975 in Munich . Sigrid Happ won the only gold medal for the host country.

European championships for men had existed since 1951, world championships since 1956. From November 30th to December 1st 1974, unofficial European championships for women took place in Genoa. Winner in this test:
- Emilia Davico from Italy in the super lightweight.
- Thérèse Nguyen from Switzerland in half light weight
- Evelyne Salanne from France in the lightweight
- Lynn Tilley from the United Kingdom as a light middleweight
- Laura Di Toma from Italy middleweight
- Monique Thiollet from France in the light heavyweight division
- Christine Child from the United Kingdom in the heavyweight division
- Paulette Fouillet from France in the open class
With Christine Child and Paulette Fouillet, two winners from 1974 also won gold at the first official European championships.
The first world championships for women were held in New York City in 1980 . The first Asian championships with competitions for women in Jakarta in 1981.
