European Judo Championships 1990
The 1990 European Judo Championships took place from May 10th to 13th in the Ball Sports Hall Höchst in Frankfurt am Main . Before that, the last time in the Federal Republic of Germany were the men's European championships in 1977 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein and the 1984 women's European championships in Pirmasens. The judoka from the Federal Republic of Germany won three gold medals in 1990 after remaining without a title the year before. The team from the GDR was at the start for the last time.
Baschir Warajew in light middleweight and Catherine Arnaud in light weight won for the fourth time in a row, Bruno Carabetta in light weight for the third time and Cécile Nowak in super light weight for the second time.
