Fabienne Boffin

Fabienne Boffin (born November 29, 1963 ) is a former French judoka . She was third in the 1986 World Cup.

Athletic career

Until 1989, Fabienne Boffin fought mostly in the super light weight category , the weight class up to 48 kilograms. In 1983, 1986 and 1989 she was French champion in super light weight, in 1991 she won the half-light weight class, the weight class up to 52 kilograms.

Boffin was second in the 1981 French championships behind Catherine Lecoq . In 1982 she was second again, this time behind Marie-France Colignon . After her league title in 1983, she also competed at the European Championships in Genoa. There she lost to the British Karen Briggs in the semi-finals , and won the battle for a bronze medal against Jola Bink from the Netherlands. Although Boffin was only third in the French championships in 1984 , she took part in the 1984 European championships in Pirmasens. After her second French championship title in 1986, she won a bronze medal at the 1986 European Championships in London after losing to Karen Briggs in the semifinals. The following year at the European Championships in Prague in 1991, she lost to the Dutch Jessica Gal in the semifinals and won bronze by defeating Tatiana Gavrilowa, who was playing for the Soviet Union .
