1986 European Men's Judo Championships

The 1986 European Judo Championships for men took place in Belgrade from May 8th to 11th .

It was the only European Judo Championship to be held in Yugoslavia . The Yugoslav judoka won no medal in front of their home crowd. The best-placed Yugoslav was Dragan Kusmuk as fifth in the open class.

In the light heavyweight division, Belgian Robert Van De Walle was able to successfully defend his title from last year.
