Henno Lohmeyer (born December 10, 1931 in Kempten (Allgäu) , Germany ) is a German journalist for newspapers and television, television reporter and interviewer as well as a book author.

Live and act

Lohmeyer, who was born in Berlin by choice, began working as a newspaper journalist and reporter in the 1950s, and in this role he also worked for the Axel Springer Verlag . Decades later (1992) he was to write a chatty and uncritical biography about his former boss with the title “ Springer. A German empire. History and Stories ”.

In 1964, Lohmeyer, together with the later television producer Wolfgang Rademann , initiated the program “ Life is the greatest show ” for ZDF. In the following year, Lohmeyer began to present the show (“ A song for Naples”, “In hall 3 from 4 to 5 “) At ARD . He became famous for his easy-going interviews with show business celebrities in the context of the two early talk show formats " Zwischenstation " and " Der Star-Gast ", which were broadcast between 1966 and 1977. Henno Lohmeyer hosted numerous German-speaking world stars such as Curd Jürgens , Lilli Palmer , Peter Ustinov , Elke Sommer and Horst Buchholz as well as local greats such as Johannes Heesters , Marika Rökk , Peter Alexander and Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff . Hardly any of these programs geared towards harmony was controversial, only an hour of interview with the singing, dancing and acting twins Alice Kessler and Ellen Kessler threatened to get completely out of hand when the two sisters argued violently with each other during the interview.

Since the late 1970s, Lohmeyer found hardly any employment in front of the camera in television and in the following years tried his hand at writing television shows with rather moderate success. Shortly thereafter, he largely disappeared from the German public's field of vision and moved to the United States. Lohmeyer was also active as a media entrepreneur; he ran his own PR company and was the publisher of an industry information service. From 1963 to 1973 Lohmeyer was married to the actress Anita Kupsch ; with her he has the daughter Daniela, born in 1964.
