Hennow Ludwig von Barfus

Hennow Ludwig von Barfus , first name also Henno and Höno , family name also Barfuß , (* around 1720 , † March 7, 1782 ) was mayor and district administrator of Stargard in Pomerania .

He came from the traditional Barfus family from Altmark . His father Reinhard Bernhard Friedrich von Barfus (* 1682) was a captain and heir on Kunersdorf . His mother was born von Bredow . His older brother Albrecht Siegmund Friedrich von Barfus (* 1710, † 1754) became district administrator of the Oberbarnim district .

Hennow Ludwig von Barfus served in the Prussian army , from which he resigned as a lieutenant because of an injury. He initially got a job as a salt inspector in Pomerania . In 1758 he became mayor and district administrator of the city of Stargard in Pomerania. During the Seven Years' War Stargard was occupied several times by the Russian army, in the process Barfus lost his fortune and was once taken hostage by the Russian army.

Barfus belonged to the Freemasons from 1775 and was most recently master of the chair at the Zum Schild lodge in Stargard. His successor in office as mayor and municipal district administrator was the city counsel Johann Gottfried Kirstein .
