Henri-Désiré Takizala

Henri-Désiré Takizala (alternative name between 1972 and 1997: Takizala Luyanu Mwis Mbingin ; * August 5, 1936 in Lundu, Belgian Congo , today: Kwilu Province , Democratic Republic of the Congo ; † December 22, 2000 in Brussels ) was a politician in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and later in Zaire .

Life

Henri-Désiré Takizala became governor of the province of Kwilu on January 18, 1966 and held this position until April 25, 1966. He then took over the post of governor of the province of Bandundu on April 25, 1966 , which he held until his replacement on April 3 , 1966 January 1967 by François Luakabwanga . He himself then replaced Jonas Mukamba as governor of the Kasaï-Oriental province on January 3, 1967 and remained in this position until August 9, 1968, when Bernard Ndebo succeeded him. On August 9, 1968 he took over from Léon Engulu the post of governor of the province of Kivu and was used there until his replacement on August 5, 1969 by Barthélemy Mukenge. He then succeeded Édouard Bulundwe as governor of the province of Equateur on August 5, 1969 and remained in this position until December 23, 1970, when Oscar Ngoma was his successor. He then succeeded Léon Engulu from 1970 until he was succeeded by Daniel Monguya Mbenge in 1972 as governor of Katanga Province .

After the Democratic Republic of the Congo was renamed Zaire on October 27, 1971 by President Mobutu Sese Seko and the associated Africanization of the country, Henri-Désiré Takizala dropped his Christian first names in February 1972 and then took the name Takizala Luyanu Mwis Mbingin. At the same time he was on February 24, 1972 as the successor to the previous Governor Daniel Monguya Mbenge new Commissioner of the Kasaï-Occidental province and held this function until March 19, 1974, after which Ngoma Ntoto Bwangi was his successor.

In 1974 Takizala was appointed to a government of Zaire for the first time and held the post of Minister for Public Works until 1977. He then became State Commissioner (Minister) for Mining in the government of the First State Commissioner (Prime Minister) Mpinga Kasenda in 1977 and held this position until 1984 in the subsequent governments of the First State Commissioners Bo-Boliko Lokonga Monse Mihambo , Nguza Karl-I-Bond , Joseph N'singa Udjuu Ongwabeki Untubu and Kengo Wa Dondo . In the government of Kengo Wa Dondo he was after a cabinet reshuffle between 1984 and 1985 State Commissioner for Higher Education and Scientific Research and briefly in 1985 State Commissioner for Mobilization, Propaganda and Political Actions. His last position was between 1988 and 1990 in the second government of First State Commissioner Kengo Wa Dondo as State Commissioner for Agriculture.
