Henri Lutz
Henri Lutz (born March 29, 1864 in Biarritz , † September 9, 1919 in Paris ) was a French composer.
Life
Henri Lutz studied from 1880 to 1885 at the music school of Louis Niedermeyer with Eugène Gigout and Clément Loret , then with Ernest Guiraud at the Paris Conservatory . In 1890 he won the Second Grand Prix de Rome with the cantata Cléopâtre based on a text by Fernand Beissier . He worked for many years as the director of music studies at the École Niedermeyer .
In addition to piano pieces, Lutz composed several operas and symphonic works, some of which were premiered in the famous Concerts Colonne and Concerts Lamoureux .
