Henri Vernes

Charles-Henri Dewisme aka Henri Vernes (born October 16, 1918 in Ath ) is a Belgian writer and comic book author .

Career

After dropping out of his studies, Charles-Henri Dewisme went to China for a short time. On his return he worked in the field of writing and was able to publish his first novel in 1944. After the war he worked as a freelance journalist in French-speaking countries.

At the request of Jean-Jacques Schellens, the publisher of Marabout, he created the fictional character Bob Morane in 1953 under his stage name Henri Vernes . In the Belgian women's magazine Femmes d'Aujourd'hui there was a long-term collaboration with the illustrator Dino Attanasio .
