Bob Morane is a Franco-Belgian comic series started in 1959 .

action

Bob Morane and Bill Ballantine are former air pilots. After the war they experience exciting adventures that take them to the most remote corners of the world. In addition to working in the jungle, they also deal with supernatural phenomena and occasionally jump in time. They thwart the world domination plans of Ming, the yellow shadow, several times. Because of their fight against the underworld, Miss Ylang-Ylang, the leader of a criminal organization, is not well-disposed towards them either. The reporter Sophia Paramount, who is usually the cause of a new adventure, appears regularly.

background

At the request of the weekly women's magazine Femmes d'aujourd'hui, Henri Vernes adapted his novel hero Bob Morane into a comic series. Dino Attanasio , Gérald Forton, William Vance and Felicísimo Coria were responsible for the graphic design . William Vance made extensive changes to some of the album editions of his stories. Since Henri Vernes also entered into a collaboration with Claude Lefrancq and Loup-Hibou, the former draftsmen Dino Attanasio and Gérald Forton were given the opportunity to draw new stories for the series and reissue old episodes. Frank Leclercq also drew two episodes for the publishing house Ananké.

The series appeared in Femmes d'aujourd'hui from 1959 to 1975. At the same time, Pilote also printed some episodes from 1965 to 1970. This was followed from 1975 to 1980 the preprint in the Belgian and 1975 to 1993 in the French edition of Tintin . Marabout printed the first albums, then Dargaud and Deligne took over. By far the most complete series of albums was published by Le Lombard . A complete edition was also created. In the German-speaking world, the series first appeared in Zack in 1976 and in Zack Parade in 1977. Another story was published in 2003 by the new Zack . Another story was published in issue 200 (2016) of the new Zack. Feest released an episode by Gérald Forton and a number of other albums by William Vance . Epsilon followed with the first story by William Vance and eventually began a complete edition.
