Henrik Hovard Ekmann

Henrik Hovard Ekmann (born January 31, 1943 ) is a Danish retired military officer with the rank of lieutenant general and a businessman.

Life

In 1962, at the age of nineteen, he took a mathematics degree and a week later began his military service with the Dronningens Livregiment in Aalborg . As a professional soldier, he remained with this regiment until 1972. This was followed by military training in the USA. He then worked for Den Kongelige Livgarde , among others . From 1985 to 1986 he was department head in the Forsvarskommandoen (defense command ), then office manager in the Forsvarsministeriet . From 1988 to 1991 he commanded the 3rd Jyske Brigade. This was followed by the management of the material staff in the Forsvars Command and the command of the Jyske Division. From 1995 to 1998 he headed the Hærens Materielkommando (Army Material Command ).

From 1998 to 1999 he was the last commander of the Allied Land Forces Corps Schleswig-Holstein and Jutland in Rendsburg and from 1999 to 2001 the first commander of the Multinational Corps North-East in Stettin . From 2001 he headed the control staff of the Forsvar command.

After retiring on his 60th birthday in 2003, the following week he took over the post of CEO at the Danish military electronics company Mærsk Data Defense, which traded as Saab Danmark after being taken over by the Swedish defense company Saab in 2006. He is still active there.
