Henrique Geraldo Martinho Gereon

Henrique Geraldo Martinho Gereon (* 3. September 1937 in Berlin as Gerhard Gereon ) is a German-Brazilian Roman Catholic clergyman .

Life

Since 1951 he lived in Hamburg , where he grew up with a brother and two sisters. He graduated from the Sankt Ansgar School in 1957 . From 1957 to 1961 he studied philosophy and theology at the PTH Sankt Georgen and was ordained a priest on February 2, 1963 in St. Johann (Osnabrück) . From 1963 to 1966 he worked as an adjunct in St. Joseph (Osnabrück) . After emigrating to Brazil, he was chaplain in St. Marien in Picos from 1966 to 1969 and pastor in Simplício Mendes from 1969 to 2003 . Since 2003 he has been pastor in São Francisco de Assis do Piauí . He is also a Brazilian citizen. On August 2, 1984 he was awarded the honorary citizenship of the state of Piauí and on November 19, 2004 the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class. The German Consul General Walter Weinberger presented it to him on February 17, 2005 in Recife .
