The Henry D. Clayton House is a historic home where the future judge and politician Henry De Lamar Clayton, Jr. was born and raised. Clayton is the author of the Clayton Antitrust Act , which prohibited certain economic practices that did not comply with fair competition. Clayton was named district judge in 1914 and advocated reform of the judiciary. The house is about 1.6 km south of Clayton at the Alabama State Route 30 in Barbour County in the US state of Alabama .
The foundation was made of brick, the wall design is made of stucco . Furthermore, the house is shaped with wood.
The period of importance of the house extends from 1900-1924; 1875-1899; 1925–1949 (individual years: 1896, 1929). The Henry D. Clayton House is open to the public.
It was listed on December 8, 1976 by the National Register of Historic Places with the number 76002259 and recognized as a National Historic Landmark .
