Clayton is a place in Alabama , USA and the county seat of Barbour County since 1832. The total area of the place is 14.1 km². According to an estimate from 2005, Clayton had 1,402 residents. The city is the birthplace of George William Andrews , a politician who represented the state of Alabama in the US House of Representatives.
