Henry Mălineanu

Henri "Henry" Mălineanu (born March 25, 1920 in Bucharest , Romania ; † November 12, 2000 there ) was a Romanian composer , conductor and songwriter .

Life

Henry Mălineanu studied at the National Music University in Bucharest . He was conductor at the Baraşeum (1942–1944), Gioconda (1944–1948) and later musical director at the Teatrul de Revistă Theater (1950–1958). During the Second World War and the prevailing anti-Semitic laws, his compositions were published by the composer Elly Roman under his name. In addition to operettas, musicals and almost 200 songs, Mălineanu also wrote film music. Among other things, he composed the music for films such as The Offender On The Track , Poste restante and Examen , where he worked with directors such as Jean Georgescu , Gheorghe Vitanidis and Francisc Munteanu .
