Henry Trujillo

Henry Trujillo (born January 11, 1965 in Mercedes , Uruguay) is a Uruguayan writer .

Life

Trujillo, who has lived in Montevideo since 1981 and has a degree in sociology, teaches at the Universidad de la República . In 1993 his first novel Torquator was published , for which he was awarded in the same year in the competition of the art of storytelling organized by the publishing house Ediciones de la Banda Oriental as well as by the Fundación Lolita Ruibal . Torquador later also formed the basis of the script for the Aldo Garay film La espera (2002). Three years later he published El vigilantehis second novel, for which he received the third prize from the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture. Also in 1996 his stories were part of the anthology La cara oculta de la luna . This was followed in 1998 Gato que aparece en la noche , which was a summary of the two previously published novels with the addition of three short stories. The anthology 32 Narradores del Sur also made use of Trujillo's works. With La persecución he published another novella in 1999. In 2000 Trujillo took part in the literary congress La Literatura del Siglo XXI: hablan los jóvenes, which was held in Lima , the capital of Peru . In the following year the history collection El fuego y otros relatos . In 2005 and 2007 he published two more novels with Ojos de caballo and Tres buitres . Trujillo also worked for the El País Cultural , a supplement to the El País newspaper . His short stories were also printed there and in La República and Graffiti .
