Henry Wilson (composer)

Henry Wilson (born December 2, 1828 in Greenfield / Massachusetts , † January 8, 1878 in Hartfort / Connecticut ) was an American composer .

Wilson worked as a printer before becoming organist at St. James in Greenfield around 1850. After studying in Leipzig, he was organist at Christ Church in Hartford from 1855 . He composed church music works whose folk melodies earned him recognition and criticism at the same time.
