The Henschel DEL 110 is a two-axle diesel-electric locomotive series from the German Henschel locomotive factory , twenty of which were built from 1935 to 1941.
history
Henschel began developing diesel-electric locomotives in the mid-1930s. The smallest locomotive was the DEL 80 , of which 15 were built. Stronger versions were the two-axis DEL 110, which was built most frequently with a number of 20, and the DEL 150 , four of which left the factory, and the three-axis DEL 220 , of which only one was built. As was not unusual for the time, the numbers in the type designation indicate the installed power in PS.
The locomotives of type 110 DEL ( D iesel e lectric L okomotive with 110 PS) were mainly supplied to various industrial lines. However, the machine with the serial number 23890 was delivered to the military in November 1938 and in this way reached the Deutsche Reichsbahn after the end of the war and then to the Deutsche Bundesbahn, where it was listed as Köe 6042.
Technical
The approx. 81 kW (110 PS) diesel engine drives a generator, which supplies a voltage of up to 173 V direct current for the electric motor. The drive power of the electric motor is transmitted to the axles via a chain.
Preserved locomotives
Five vehicles were verifiably scrapped, the whereabouts of eleven machines are unknown.
The following are definitely preserved:
