Heqaib (II.) Was the head of the priesthood and mayor of Elephantine in the second half of the 12th Dynasty , probably under King Sesostris III. and at the beginning of the reign of Amenemhet III. He was the son of a certain Chunes and a woman named Sathathor. He was probably not related to his predecessor Sarenput II . Heqaib is known from foundations from the sanctuary of the local saint Heqaib and his grave (No. 30) on the Qubbet el-Hawa . His grave there is the last major rock grave of a local governor. The graves of the successors have not yet been identified. His son was Ameni-seneb , who later also served as the mayor of Elephantine.
