Herbärds is an Oi! -Band from Stuttgart . They are considered to be one of the first skinhead bands from Germany.

history

The Herbärds emerged from the German punk band Total Kaputt . In 1982 they played their debut album Eu! Se Bois with exclusively German-language texts on Mülleimer Records . Live performances with Normahl and other bands followed. In 1984 a saxophonist joined Micha and the previous Oi! Punk was expanded to include Ska influences. In 1985 Micha, Jörn and Moppel got out. Willi took over the drums and Timo the bass. With the disappearance of Micha, the music became heavier and more aggressive again. 1986 the second LP Wakos appeared on Rat Records .

Shortly afterwards the musical direction changed again and the Herbärds first renamed themselves Balzer Ross and then Overload . In 1987 they disbanded. In the same year, singer Tek had a serious motorcycle accident.

In 1989 the songs Wir and Goldfieber appeared on the first mad shock sampler, followed in 1991 by A Brief Moment on the second part of the sampler series. At that time, however, there was no permanent cast.

Tek briefly continued with the German punk band Ahab, which he left in 1999 to re-establish the Herbärds. Around this time, the debut album was re-released via Teenage Rebel Records and the Herbärds became known to a wider audience. In 2000 the third album Wir sind zurück was released there, which was very German-rock- heavy.

Since 2017, the Herbärds have been playing with the current line-up at festivals such as “How Punk Came to Stuttgart ...” or as support for z. B. the Offenders.
