Herbert Bignall

Herbert Bignall ( Herbert James "Herb" Bignall; born January 28, 1906 in Reigate , † October 30, 1989 in Redhill ) was a British marathon runner .

In 1928 he was third in the Polytechnic Marathon in 2:45:10 h, fourth in the English Championship in 2:53:05 h and came in 21st place in the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 2:45:44 h. In 1929 he was again third in the Polytechnic Marathon in 2:44:32 h.

In 1930 he set his personal best as second in the Polytechnic Marathon with 2:44:02 h and was fifth for England at the British Empire Games in Hamilton . In 1934 he finished fourth in the Polytechnic Marathon.
