Herbert Froessler

Herbert Frößler (born October 23, 1941 ) is a German radiologist and medical officer a. D. the Bundeswehr . He was there in the rank of surgeon general last from 1 October 1998 to to 31 October 2001 chief physician of the Central Military Hospital in Koblenz .

After studying human medicine, Frößler wrote his dissertation in 1969 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster on the subject of treating bladder carcinoma with 18 MV X-rays . Frößler had been working as a specialist in X-ray and radiation medicine at the Bundeswehr Central Hospital since 1976, headed the radiological department there from 1980 and took up the position of chief physician in October 1998. He lives in Koblenz and is politically active at the local level in the CDU .
