Herbert Freiherr von Ohlen and Adlerscron (born September 9, 1895 in Reichen , Namslau district , † August 20, 1958 ) was a German officer and association official in various agricultural associations.

Life

Born as the son of the manor owner Franz Freiherr von Ohlen and Adlerscron , Herbert Freiherr von Ohlen and Adlerscron graduated from the Matthias Gymnasium in Breslau . At Easter 1914 he began studying law in Freiburg i. Br., But when the First World War broke out, he joined the Dragoon Regiment "King Friedrich III." (2nd Silesian) No. 8 and stayed with his regiment until 1918. Then he was employed in the 167th Infantry Brigade and as Ordonnanz-Officer Ia in the Army Department Gronau. In February 1919 he returned from the field, resigned in his regiment and took part in the battles against the Spartacists with the Guard Cavalry Rifle Division in Berlin. He was then transferred to the staff of the Guard Cavalry Rifle Division as 2nd Adjutant. In the autumn of 1919 he was deployed to the border guard in Upper Silesia and most recently to the General Command of the 6th Army Corps in Breslau. When the old army was disbanded in 1920, he was initially accepted into the Reichswehr, but at the end of 1921 he left as first lieutenant. After that he was adjutant of the military overhead line of the Escherich organization until spring 1923 and worked in the Reichswehr Ministry until autumn 1923.

After his final retirement from the military, Freiherr von Ohlen and Adlerscron was employed as a businessman in the automotive industry. On January 1, 1926, he became the managing director of the Neustadt regional union in Upper Silesia , and from October 1926 to October 1933 he was the chief executive of the Upper Silesian regional union in Opole . From April 1933 he was also the managing director of the Oberschlesischer Eruldungsverband e. V. and Oberschlesischen Landberatung GmbH. On September 1, 1933, he became managing director of the Association and the Economic Association of the German Sugar Industry. On April 1, 1935, he headed the main association of the German sugar industry.

From March 1945 Freiherr von Ohlen and Adlerscron was a member of the management of the Sugar Industry Association in Sehnde , and from 1950 in Hanover .
