Herbert Henry Dow

Herbert Henry Dow (born February 26, 1866 in Belleville ( Canada ), † October 15, 1930 in Midland , USA ) was an American chemist and industrialist. Among other things, he developed a process for obtaining bromine from aqueous solution ( brine ) by means of electrolysis . This work led to the establishment of Dow Chemical in Midland , Michigan in 1897 . He remained the owner and the first general manager of his company until his death .
