Herbert Lieberwirth
Herbert Lieberwirth (born December 6, 1914 , † after 1955) was a German football coach. In 1953/54 he coached the company sports community (BSG) Lokomotive Stendal in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .
Athletic career
In the 1952/53 season Herbert Lieberwirth was assistant coach under Oswald Pfau at the upper division Lok Stendal. When Pfau had left Lok Stendal after the end of the season, Lieberwirth was appointed as the responsible coach of the league team. After the Stendal team under Oswald Pfau had reached 11th place among 17 teams in 1953, they ended up with Lieberwirth after the end of the 1953/54 season with 15 participating teams only in 13th place and had to relegate the GDR league . Despite the failure, Lieberwirth remained coach in Stendal, and he managed to return the team to the league immediately in the 1954/55 season. He was then replaced by Gerhard Gläser , who had previously been dismissed from the relegated league club SC Chemie Halle-Leuna . Lieberwirth then no longer trained a higher-class team.
