Herbert Loskott

Herbert Loskott (born February 17, 1926 in Vienna ) is an Austrian composer and local researcher .

Life

Loskott attended the teacher training institute and the music conservatory in Vienna . He then worked as a primary school teacher in Ludweis-Aigen near Raabs an der Thaya , most recently as head and high school councilor. From 1972 Loskott also worked as a music educator at the Horn Gymnasium and as a music educator at the church music school of the diocese of St. Pölten .

Loskott created 60 sacred compositions, including 16 masses, but also folk songs and marches. The Döllersheimer Messe , which premiered in 1989, is particularly well-known .

Loskott worked as a local researcher in the Waldviertel for many decades . There are about 50 local history articles from him, but also independent publications. Above all, the area around his home in Aigen was thoroughly explored by him. In 1974 he founded the Association for the Preservation of the Kollmitz Castle Ruins . It is thanks to his activity that this important castle complex was saved .

On November 10, 2009 Herbert Loskott, who is already an honorary citizen of Ludweis-Aigen, was awarded the professional title of Professor .
