Herbert Reiger

Herbert Reiger (born March 3, 1927 ; † December 12, 2014 in Vienna ) was an Austrian lawyer and an official of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce .

Life

Herbert Reiger joined the Federal Chamber of Commerce in 1951 after completing his law degree. He initially worked there in the field of transport policy. From 1954 he worked in the presidential department, from 1972 as its head. From 1979 Reiger was Deputy Secretary General of the BWK.

Since the entry into force of the ASVG in 1956, Reiger campaigned for the commercial pension . Since the decisive negotiations in 1956/57, he has been one of the fathers of the trade pension. For 17 years, from 1975 to 1992, he was chairman of the then supervisory committee in the main association, which was then called the control meeting and now functions as the controlling group.

Reiger was the holder of the Great Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria , as well as numerous other domestic and foreign awards.
