Herbert Schiffner is a former Austrian ski jumper .
Career
Schiffner made his international debut at the Four Hills Tournament in 1962/63 . He skipped the first jump and only started jumping in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , where he immediately achieved a top 30 place as 27th. In Bischofshofen he landed again on rank 28 and then finished the tour in 60th overall.
In the Four Hills Tournament 1963/64 he played three of the four jumping competitions. At the opening jump on the Schattenbergschanze in Oberstdorf , Schiffner landed in 20th place and after two further good results in the overall standings finally reached 16th place with 784.9 points.
In the following two years he was unable to build on this result and ended his active ski jumping career in 1966.
Herbert Schiffner's brother Sepp was also internationally active as a Nordic skier.
