Herbert Schildbach (born November 13, 1923 in Schwarzenbach an der Saale ; † November 2, 2016 there ) was a German painter .

Life

Herbert Schildbach was the son of the weaver August Schildbach and his wife Anna. He had three siblings. He attended elementary school in Schwarzenbach from 1929 to 1938 and began training as a construction clerk in the Wild construction business in Schwarzenbach in 1938. In 1941 he was drafted into the Russian campaign , he returned from the war in 1946. His marriage to his wife Helga, née Riedlinger, had two daughters. Until he retired in 2003, he worked for the Wild company.

Artistic creation

Herbert Schildbach has been interested in painting since his youth and taught himself his knowledge. Anton Richter stood by his side as a friend and mentor . He mainly worked in the studio in the basement of his house on Gollersberg. He even made the picture frames himself, which should match the picture in shape and color. Starting in 1964, she began making her own works in oil and acrylic. He chose motifs from the Schwarzenbach area with landscapes, town views and striking buildings. Since 1967 he took part in the exhibition of the Schwarzenbach painters. He also took part in exhibitions in Hof , Bayreuth , Wunsiedel , Schweinfurt and Marktredwitz . In 1995 he retired from public life. In his honor and Alfred Kutzscher there was an exhibition in Schwarzenbach in 2018.

A lover of swing , he taught himself the accordion , saxophone and clarinet . After the war he founded a band under his stage name "Enzo", which played in local dance halls and at festivals. He performed as a music trio until 2007. He played the accordion and sang. A CD has been recorded.
