August Herbert Uerpmann (born December 17, 1911 in Barmen ; † December 22, 1996 in Wuppertal - Elberfeld ) was a German landscape and still life painter.

Life

Herbert Uerpmann was the son of August Uerpmann and Anna Emilie nee Finke. His profession was a decorator, he studied with Wittücher and Ludwig Fahrenkrog at the Barmen School of Applied Arts . Uerpmann's first pictures were taken around 1938/39 with predominantly mountain landscape motifs. During the 1950s, Uerpmann was the owner of an art gallery in Laurentiusstrasse in Wuppertal-Elberfeld. He later ran a studio on Wall 3 in the same district. His health problems repeatedly forced him to take longer breaks. A large part of his works was sold through a gallery in Heidenheim , Franconia , which also organized his sales exhibitions. Some of his works are privately owned by Marl.

Uerpmann was married to Ilse Marie, nee Lang. Their son Herbert Michael Uerpmann comes from the relationship.
