Herbert Unterberger (born January 2, 1944 in Hermagor ) is an Austrian sculptor .

He lives and works in Hermagor in Carinthia . Several of his sculptures, figures and statues can be seen in public spaces.

education

Unterberger was a student of the sculptor Hans Domenig from 1958 to 1962 , studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1962 to 1966 with Hans Andre and life drawing with Herbert Boeckl . In 1965 and 1966 he received the master school award from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and graduated in 1966. This was followed by teaching at the mus.-päd from 1968 to 1970. High school in Hermagor. Herbert Unterberger has been working as a freelancer since 1967.

  • In June 2018, a memorial stone made of Krastal marble with the inscription Where are we going for Ingeborg Bachmann , created by Herbert Unterberger, was unveiled on the village square in Obervellach .
