Autumn blonde

Herbstblond is the title of the autobiography of the German television presenter Thomas Gottschalk . It was published by Heyne Verlag in April 2015 .

In the first part of the book, Gottschalk describes his rise from the small town of Kulmbach in Upper Franconia to one of the most famous television presenters in Germany. The second part is devoted to general reflections on topics such as fame, aging, family, and Hollywood .

Moritz von Uslar wrote in Die Zeit that the reader would be “surprised by the quiet, so pleasantly unobescited sound of the Gottschalk biography”. Denis Scheck calls the work a "largely passable and insightful, occasionally even amusing book".

When it was published, the book was number 1 on the Spiegel bestseller list.
