Miriam Strunge (born August 26, 1987 in Bonn ) is a German political scientist and politician ( Die Linke ). She has been a member of the citizenship in Bremen since 2015 .

biography

Family, education and work

Strunge grew up in Bonn and graduated from the comprehensive school in Bonn-Beuel. After school she did a voluntary service in Romania in Cluj-Napoca for 18 months and supported Roma children in school. She has been studying political science for a bachelor's degree at the University of Bremen since 2009 and then social policy.

She lives in Bremen- Walle and is married.

politics

Strunge joined the left- wing youth Solid in 2011 and the Left party in 2012. Since 2013 she has been the federal spokeswoman for Linksjugend Solid and university and youth policy spokeswoman for the Bremen state executive committee of the Left. In May 2016 she was elected to the national executive committee of her party.

On May 10, 2015, Miriam Strunge was elected to Bremen's citizenship in the 2015 general election. Strunge has placed youth and education policy at the center of its political commitment. She works in the Committee for Science, Media, Data Protection and Freedom of Information (member) and in the State Deputation for Culture (Chair).
